On the 22nd of August, 2020, your tax friend, The Tax Club, University of Ilorin collaborated with the leading career hub, BTDT Hub, to organize its LinkedIn Optimization Session. The Session which was held on the virtual video conferencing platform, Zoom.

The session was aimed at training budding career professionals in the art of optimizing the leading professional platform, LinkedIn in the course of exploring and maximizing opportunities in the contemporary competitive world.

The session was facilitated by Attah Jeph, Quality Control Associate and Team Lead, Personal Branding at the BTDT Hub and Muhammed Abolarin, Tax Associate at Templars and the former President of the Club. The session was moderated by the Club’s very own, Musa Kalejaiye, who serves as the Attorney General of the Students’ Union, University of Ilorin.

The facilitators emphasized on the essence of having a stellar profile on LinkedIn as the session now serves as the digital CV in the contemporary workplace. They both emphasized that it is important to have a fully completed profile to ensure that the profile comes up first during searches that may done by recruiters.

The facilitators stated that it is a must for undergraduates and fresh graduates to have an account registered on the platform as the platform connects budding professionals to established career professionals in their respective chosen fields. Opportunities, such as certifications and internships, could be gained from the platform, they stated, which would go a long way in building competence in personalities aiming to reach the top of their professions.

During the session, the importance of connectivity during the digital age is examined. The world now thrives on connective interactions and LinkedIn makes this process easy in the modern career space.

Mr. Musa Kalejaiye, the moderator appreciated the depths examined by the facilitators and appreciated the level of interaction exhibited by the participants during the course of the session. The session is filled with insights, he said, and he urges the participants to put all the tips mentioned by the facilitators into practice by adapting it to their LinkedIn profiles.
